HUMAN RESEARCH CORE MANAGER – HRC
This position is located in Kannapolis, NC (appx 2 hours from main campus, near Charlotte, NC).
The Human Research Core Manager will serve as team leader and integral member of the staff of the NRI Human Research Core (HRC) to perform as needed the full spectrum of services the HRC provides. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting in study planning, submission of study and regulatory materials (IRB applications, safety plans for HRC clients), creating a central study participant recruitment registry to benefit all NCRC HRC studies, recruiting, scheduling and consenting of study participants for individual studies.
This position would manage core personnel and resources on studies but also be a member of the team for the collection and processing of biospecimens (blood, urine, stool, semen, saliva etc.), laboratory analyses (pregnancy test, HBA1c, urine electrolytes, sperm motility, etc.), capturing anthropometric, clinical, and biological data, collecting and preprocessing of study surveys (social factors, dietary habits etc.), performing instrumental measurements of body composition (DEXA, BodPod, FibroScan etc.), conducting energy expenditure assessments (Whole-chamber indirect calorimetry, mask-indirect calorimetry, BioDex etc.), measure flow-mediated dilation and thickness of peripheral arterial arteries, contribute to study data management, and assisting with data analysis, report writing, and preparing grant applications.
- Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required; for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant undergraduate degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure.
- Must be able to provide a rigorous clinical and scientific perspective for the performance and advancement of the HRC.
- Licensure as RN or RD/LDN preferred.
