NGx Scholarship Application

The Nutrigenetics, Nutrigenomics and Precision Nutrition Short Course is designed for graduate students, health professionals and nutrition scientists from academia, agencies, and industry. This workshop-style course will provide the fundamental concepts of nutrigenetics, nutrigenomics and personalized nutrition through cutting-edge presentations and hands-on experiences. To encourage graduate students and postdoctoral fellows the NRI offers a limited number of scholarships. All the necessary information is on this page. Application Process

Scholarships include course registration.

Eligibility
To be eligible for a scholarship, you must be a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow enrolled in an academic institution as of the start date of the class. Students graduating in the Spring semester immediately prior to the start date are eligible regardless of actual graduation date.

Note: a graduate student is defined as a student who is studying for a higher degree at an academic institution. A postdoctoral fellow is defined as an individual with a PhD, MD, or DVM degree who is engaged in a temporary period of mentored research and/or scholarly training for the purpose of acquiring the professional skills needed to pursue their desired career path, and is within 6 years of these degrees.

Under-represented Groups
Applications from under-represented groups are highly encouraged. If you wish to declare that you are a member of an under-represented group, please do so in your brief personal statement.

Application Procedure & Requirements
If you are eligible and wish to be considered for a scholarship, fill out the form to the right by the scholarship deadline, March 1, 2022. After submitting your scholarship application, register for the short course and follow the specific instructions for scholarship applicants.

  • Brief personal statement (2-3 paragraphs) describing how the class will benefit your current research and future career path.
  • Current resumé/CV
  • Unofficial transcript
  • Letter from your mentor verifying your status as a student or postdoc.

Review Criteria

Scholarship applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the NGx Scholarship Committee. Criteria include the value of this course for your current and future career development as demonstrated by your personal statement, your academic record and/or CV.
