September 28, 2018 – This October, the NRI proudly marks its tenth anniversary of delving into the science of Precision Nutrition. Faculty Focus: Saroja Voruganti, PhD

October 17, 2018 – Saroja Voruganti, PhD, has covered a lot of ground in her journey to becoming a faculty researcher in nutrition, genetics, and epidemiology at the UNC Nutrition Research Institute. Born into a traditional south Indian family, she grew up in Delhi in northern India where she graduated with an undergraduate degree in nutrition. Then she married and moved to western India. Even as she focused on marriage, home, and raising a family in the traditional Indian way of life, she kept alive her dream of pursuing advanced studies and contributing outside of family life. Appetite For Life – Wednesday, October 17, 2018: “Fun(ctional) Fall Flavors”

September 28, 2018 – In collaboration with Johnson & Wales University, we are pleased to present a very special event at the JWU campus in Center City Charlotte. Chef Megan Lambert, MS, RD, from Johnson & Wales and registered dietitian Steph Saullo, MS, RD from the NRI will come together to demonstrate delicious, healthy cooking while sharing tips for consuming a balanced, nutritious diet. Attendees will be able to sample the fare following the presentation.
Program begins at 6:00 PM in  Hance Auditorium at Johnson & Wales University, 801 West Trade Street (at Cedar Street), Charlotte, NC 28202. Get directions here.
Parking is available in the Cedar Street Parking Deck, 116 S Cedar Street, immediately adjacent to Johnson & Wales. Bring your parking ticket to be validated at the Appetite For Life check-in table. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Seating is limited.  Come a few minutes early to get a seat!
