Be among the first to learn about cutting-edge research taking place at the Nutrition Research Institute and elsewhere in the field. Register now for free Appetite for Life presentations. Appetite for Life is a series of community programs that bring the latest scientific research down to earth in educational and interactive lectures, demonstrations and events. Our speakers, experts in their fields, present programs to help you understand what precision nutrition is and how we are using advanced methods of research to investigate it for your improved healthcare.

When programs are in Kannapolis, they are presented at the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Biotechnology Training Center, 399 Biotechnology Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 on the North Carolina Research Campus. Each program features an expert presentation and informal discussion. Light bites will be provided.

In Charlotte, we collaborate with Johnson & Wales University for programs called Cooking for Nourishment. These feature a JWU chef and an NRI registered dietitian who demonstrate and discuss healthy eating and cooking. Samples of the dishes demo’d are served follow the presentation. November 18 – Appetite for Life with a Twist

On November 18 at 6:00PM ET, join us via Zoom for a presentation on “How Nutrition Research at UNC-Chapel Hill is Developing around the Coronavirus” by Penny Gordon-Larsen, PhD, Associate Dean for Research in the Gillings School of Global Public Health and Professor in the Department of Nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Gordon-Larsen became the Gilling School’s Associate Dean for Research in September 2018. In this role, she leads a schoolwide research program of approximately $200 million in research funding each year. She provides intellectual and strategic leadership and vision for research programs and for supporting and enhancing the School’s research enterprise. Dr. Gordon-Larsen is instrumental in the leadership of COVID-19 research response at the Gillings School.   Registration is open.   Register here.
