Akshitha Mentreddy is a Bioinformatician at the UNC Nutrition Research Institute. She
earned her master’s degree in Bioinformatics from the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte and applies computational and statistical approaches to analyze complex
biological datasets. Prior to her current role, she worked as a Bioinformatics Intern with
Dr. Saroja Voruganti, where she gained experience in bioinformatics research, computational
genomics, and data analysis. Her work focuses on integrating and analyzing multi-omics
datasets to better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying complex biological
processes and human disease. Her research interests include bioinformatics, genomics,
transcriptomics, metabolomics, and precision nutrition. She is passionate about advancing
bioinformatics through innovative, data-driven research and is committed to developing
computational approaches that enhance our understanding of human health and disease.
