Alejandro Alvarez Fernandez

Metabolomics Assistant, Sumner Lab

Alejandro graduated from Catawba College in 2026 with a B.S. in Biology and minors in Molecular Biology and Chemistry. His undergraduate research examined the effects of metal ions on bacterial biofilm formation. He is excited to join the Sumner Lab as a Metabolomics Assistant. Originally from Gijon, Spain, Alejandro swam competitively for Catawba but he is definitely done with it for good.
