Erik Lopez Gallardo is a PhD candidate at the University of Chile. He is currently a PhD Visiting Scholar at the Nutrition Research Institute in the Trujillo Lab. His research focuses on identifying new regulatory components of insulin signaling pathways in skeletal muscle, supported by funding from the IUBMB 2025 Wood Whelan Research Fellowship.

Erik’s interests include reading, hiking, football, and Formula 1.
