Recently, Good Morning America featured a story on the All of Us Research Program from the National Institutes of Health. This initiative aims to build a comprehensive database that will empower researchers to conduct numerous studies on health and disease.
The UNC Nutrition Research Institute is proud to partner with All of Us as a research site for this important national health study as interim director, Deborah F. Tate, PhD and local participant Devin Chandler explained to Deniege Broom of WSOC-TV, the ABC affiliate station in Charlotte, NC.

“For a long time, dietary recommendations for Americans were the same recommendations for everyone,” said Dr. Deborah Tate. “But we are now learning that because we have diverse backgrounds, because we have different genetics, different cultures … Our bodies need different nutrients, and probably process those nutrients differently.”
